How Hot is Your Relationship with Money?

“IF MONEY WERE A PERSON”, asks Morgana Rae, “what kind of person would reflect your current experience of Money?” Is it an ugly, disappointing, elusive, even frightening presence in your life, one you dread and even avoid ─ or is it a highly attractive, loving, sexy and exciting entity who finds you powerfully attractive and is always eager to please you?

What an intriguing question! Even more intriguing for me are the amazingly abundant (i.e., rich) results Morgana has achieved for her own business as well as her coaching clients through using this dynamic metaphor. I’ve been eager to learn to more and have planned for months now to get an interview. As you see, I have succeeded ─ so please read on!

Financial Alchemy Workbook

“I have no trouble believing this, but it’s such a gas!!!!! Remember, a few days ago, 2 days after working with your on-line book, my husband received a $5,500 unexpected bonus? I just received your workbook, and began working with it last night. Well, today he received a $550 increase a month after taxes, income. This allows us to buy the new car, and model car, I really want! (My car, which I still love, is 12 years old– so it’s certainly is time!). WOW! By the way, I am a self employed singer, songwriter, musician, children’s teaching artist. My field is feeling the recession, friends in the field really worried, phones are not ringing, budgets are cut back… BUT MY BUSINESS IS BOOMING. $3800 worth of booking has come in within the past 2 days. This is one more Money Goddess lesson: life changes that quickly… never take the future for granted. When you know you need to do something, don’t delay it!

Here’s the story of how I was almost killed, barely survived the recovery, and the learnings and gifts I extracted for you, in the hopes that you learn the lessons more easily…

Late last year my (personified) Money “Honey” told me he wanted me to start walking. I was having one of those, “Okay, Money, what would make you happy?” conversations.  He responded, “I want you to take daily walks at 8 in the morning.”  8 am? I was falling asleep at 5 am!  But when money tells you what to do, you do it… These walks became my favorite time of my day, typically lasting two and a half hours.

On one of these walks my Money Honey said he needed a bigger place. He was feeling claustrophobic and didn’t want to live in the apartment I’ve had for ten years.  That’s when I started looking for a house to buy.  I did the whole loan application thing, scoured the internet for houses in five cities (I had a little trouble choosing where I want to live)…  and then on a daily walk I found it: my new home.

It’s HUGE! And beautiful. Romantic. Total Morgana-wish-fulfillment. High, beamed, dark wood ceilings; lots of windows (I’ve counted 19); lots of closets (I counted 8, maybe 9); two stories, a balcony; private garden; a kitchen with a gazillion built-ins (including a vintage ice box); more rooms and much more space. The first thing I see in the morning

“Hi Morgana,

I had a really cool experience recently.  I was getting a strong inner nudge to go deeper into your work. So, I bought the CD and Financial Alchemy workbook and ebook.

Recently, I’ve been having trouble pinning down the look of my (personified) money “honey”.  It has jumped around a lot – from a Heath Ledger to Hugh Jackman look-a-like. I read through the ebook and just got the workbook and CD yesterday. I realized I’d never written down what my money money monster and money honey are like. So, last night I wrote all about the money monster.

I also saw a film last night with an actor in it that I like very much named John Krasinski. This morning when I was writing down what my money honey was like it struck me that my money honey was like the characters this actor plays.  Using this actor as a model made everything click for me.

The wild thing is I’ve had pretty amazing results already before I met my real money honey. It reminded me of dating – like you date really great guys and have amazing experiences but they just don’t quite click – and you are left largely with some of the same struggles – something is just missing – even if there are lots of things that are extraordinary.
