I answer a reader’s burning question:

“I am really intrigued by the idea of a new relationship with money, but I’m wondering if it will work for someone who doesn’t have an actual positive real-life guy to model it on?  I know that the process is not an intellectual one, but when I think about trying to have a money honey I think I’m bringing in a lot of baggage from guys and men who have disappointed me in real life.  What if I have no positive male archetypes to draw upon for my money honey?”

“How can I resolve a conflict I feel between deep gratitude for necessities being provided for versus a desire for more security and financial breathing room?”

Great question!

And this goes directly to the heart of the Financial Alchemy transformation:

What’s MISSING from your current relationship with money (and life) is SAFETY.

Your relationship is not safe: you can’t trust money to be there for you and stay with you.

Kind of like having a boyfriend (or girlfriend) who’s there for you just enough to keep you in the relationship, but you never really feel safe in your partner’s love, or secure in their commitment to stay with you…

And you’re GRATEFUL for every little scrap of affection or attention you can get.

Ewwww!

Pretty soon you think this is the best you’ll ever get…

You can hope things will get better in this relationship, but that’s not how it works.

If you want to feel loved, cherished, and secure; you need to choose a PARTNER who will love, cherish, and stay with you.

And first you have to end your relationship with the abuser.

It’s really important to recognize this, because it’s the foundation of changing your relationship with money.

If you’re feeling guilty for wanting more, or you think you can’t have more, you’re in an abusive relationship with money!!!

Time to break up with the abuser, baby… to make room for your new relationship with money… your “Money Honey” who will love, cherish, and stay with you.

I was having a little battle with a poster on my Facebook fan page over the global financial crisis.

In a United Press International interview, I said our individual relationships with money must change for the world economic crisis to end.

A reader of that statement was deeply offended. She believed that our financial challenges are far beyond our ability to impact with our own personal choices… that the responsibility (and solution) lies with governments and banks, not individuals.

I agree that government and bank policies are culpable for lying and cheating and swindling… and only we can get our own lives back on track.

We have elections, we have Occupy Wall Street, and we have our own relationships with money. Read the rest of this entry »

I had asked for gifts and surprises from the Universe that remind me that I’m worthy of highest good.

ON THE SAME DAY WE RECEIVED AN UNEXPECTED CHECK FOR $25,000.

(I actually went back to my workbook to verify that it was the same day.)

More recently, we had a major financial need occur without warning. A game changer. I’ve continued asking for ever increasing financial abundance from expected and unexpected sources.

WITHIN A WEEK WE RECEIVED AN UNEXPECTED CHECK FOR $60,000!! which is allowing us grace in financial transition.

Money Honey rocks!

I had also asked for some easy vacations, and within a few weeks got invites from two friends, one with a condo in Montauk, Long Island, and one with a condo in Bermuda.

Went on both trips.

I’ll keep you updated on the children’s concerts in my special niche.
