What you Absolutely, Positively Have to Do to Have a Thriving Business by Lisa Dee, Woman of The Year in Advertising and Personal Development by NAPEW.

You want the BEST STRATEGIES of business success?

1) Develop yourself.

Understand every nook and cranny of your being. The good , the bad and the really frikkin’ ugly. Because it is in all of that, that you will find your wisdom. Of course coaches and mentors are great for helping keep us on course. But this deep self exploration work–where you really learn about your inner landscape-–is yours to do.

Get a guide.

It helps.

Yes, of course I can help if you want. But rest assured I only work with people who are ready and seriously dedicated to their self development.

The absolute magic and fun of this is that your creations will reflect back to you exactly where you are on your inner journey.

So, are you ready for that kind of truth?

You want the other juice?

Some basic how tos of running a biz?

Here are some pointers:

2) Hire the best.
Not what you can afford. The Best. Even if you have to get a line of credit to do so. Do not be scared. The best will have themselves paid back in a matter of months and your business will accelerate faster than you could imagine. Which brings it own next set of challenges. Ask me when you are ready to learn about this for how to get prepared for accelerated growth.

3 Hire slow. Fire fast
Turnover is expensive. So is the damage the wrong hire can cause. So take your time. Even if it feels like the perfect fit. Do your due diligence. I have an amazing hiring tool that helped streamline my hiring process and has saved me from hiring the wrong person half a dozen times. Ask me if you are interested in knowing about it.

4) Fall in love with your clients

Taught to me by the multi millionaire businessman, Jay Abraham. Stop looking at your clients like dollar signs. They are people. Find out what their favorite things are. Start a real relationship with them. And, as with anyone that you love, you will want to enhance their life in any way you can. Hopefully starting with why your product will do this for them.

5) Six reasons people buy
Also taught by aforementioned guru Mr. Abraham. This is a quality gem. There are six reasons why people buy. And people buy emotionally and then rationalize right? So answer one or all of these and you have a shoe in for success:
People buy for
* A level of protection
* Prestige
* An advantage
*An improvement
* A benefit
* Enjoyment

6) Live your core values
Name them and then live them. Hire to them. Fire for them. This means internally as well as externally. Recently one of our biggest most prestigious clients had a change in personnel. Our happy relationship changed drastically and not for the positive side of change either. I was told by the new client that we had all kinds of problems.

Always wanting the opportunity to improve myself and my companies, I listen to complaints with an ear looking for the gem. Within two days we were back, with systems updated and solutions to every challenge he had been facing. He was surprised. And quite pleased.

One of our core values is trust. What I went on to explain to our new client was the fact that we lived to our core values. Trust was one of them. And I could improve systems until the cows came home (this makes more sense to me now that I live in farmland ). But at the end of the day, if he did not trust us, really trust us, no system would be good enough and the relationship would ultimately fail. And that was not what we were in business for. We are in business to succeed and enhance our clients businesses so they too could succeed. So I suggested that we put the new systems in place, our best foot forward and revisit the relationship in one month. And if in one month the relationship was not thriving and trust had not been re-established, we would replace ourselves at no cost to him.

He went from being please to being floored.

Here’s what happened. The morale of my company soared through the roof. People knew that I put their worth and self respect before the almighty dollar.

The client realized that they were working with a company of high moral fibre and that immediately changed their perspective of us.

We still retain this lovely and appreciated account and the relationship continues to grow.

Live your values. It will steer you clear every single time.

7) Be willing to change
The definition of courage is the willingness to change.
Be courageous every day. You will grow vastly in all directions if you are willing to change.
Do not get emotionally attached. Be passionate but not attached. To anything. Your concept may have been great years ago, but is it now? Are you the best CEO for your company? Where can you improve? How can your company improve? What worked yesterday may not today so change it! Watch your ego (again back to knowing yourself). Where are you making your decision from? If you were wrong, admit it, apologize and move on. Do not waste your precious energy on defending what is no longer of service.

8) Look for the niche and fill it. Keep checking if it still is a niche.
Always look for the next one. These next niches are either new businesses or value added services to your current business.

9) Have cash flow–lots of it.
Plan for this and keep it healthy (as financial alchemist you now have a secret weapon )

10 Hire great people.
Then listen to them. You cannot have to have all the answers. As a matter of fact you do not. You have the vision. Your team has the answers. And it is so much more fun this way. Imagine how boring it would be if you just had to listen to yourself all the time.

11) Celebrate– a lot
Celebrate everything-great new hires, people that resign, getting fired, winning new business, having your own company, the fact that it is a Wednesday. Celebrate. There is always something to celebrate. And once you learn this perspective everything becomes a gift and then every aspect of your business becomes joyful.

12) The numbers will guide you.
So check in with them and see what they are telling you. Are you in balance or do you need to create more income? There is no need to panic or be upset. It is just information. Valuable information so you can know what to do when. And there is always a solution. And try this on for size. Are you qualified to manage large amounts of wealth and profit? Have your brain work on that to keep things in balance as well.

13) Work on your business. Not in it.
Taught to me by Harv Eker. And a brilliant suggestion. Here is my explanation of what that means. I spent eight plus years building my business. Then it was so tightly wound around me that I was strangling. It also couldn’t grow without me. Then I spent years unraveling this. Spend your time more wisely than undoing things. Think of your business like a car-drive it . Do not ‘become’ it. Check it out, fill the oil when needed, check the tires etc. Work on it to make it run optimally. But you are not the car. It is just the vehicle to carry you. Your business is just the vehicle to carry you to where you want to go.

14) Know your worth.
Let your values guide you and the money will show up and keep showing up-every time.

Your relationship with money is as real as any relationship. So think about it. When you are being yourself, loving yourself, proud of yourself, you attract a real sustainable, sensational relationship. If you are out there ‘fishing’, being what you think will attract another, being desperate and doing whatever it takes, what usually happens to the relationship when the real you comes to the surface? Or what do you have to do to keep the relationship you attracted when you were out of integrity with yourself? And how exhausting and distracting is that?

It is the same thing in business and goes back to the point about knowing who you really are. And THIS is what you market. Look at all the great companies you know or love-there is an identifiable person who most people really respect that draws the client or the customer.

15) Internal clients and external clients.
Work for both and the rewards will be double.
You staff are your internal clients. Work for the. They will in tune work on a superior level for your external clients. You will gain both personal and financial rewards this way. You will receive personal gratification when you set your sights on how to make your internal clients successful and happy. And the ripple effect is one of the easiest ways to reap financial gain.

16) Face your fears
They are there to make your stronger, more agile and a better player. They show up as information to guide you to a place that in an untapped well of energy. Once you master this, nothing can stop you. Nothing. No challenge that shows up will daunt you. It is one of the keys to successful leadership and self mastery.

17) Understand and stand in vulnerability.
This is the truest power there is. Once you have rediscovered the place you came from, your vulnerability, nothing can ever take your power again. Look at a child-could hey be more vulnerable? And are not most children fearless? When you can be comfortable in being vulnerable you will have discovered your greatest source of strength. It is counterintuitive but it is real. You must have this a tool in your tool belt for you to build your dreams.
