Getting Rid of That Money Monster

Thursday, August 4th, 2011

There’s JUST AS MUCH MAGIC in nailing down that money monster as there is in your Money Honey. After so many years and so many hundreds of sessions, I’ve come to believe that you can’t really get your money honey without fully summoning that money monster first. YOU NEED THE POLARITY. That’s what makes this Alchemy. But getting rid the monster can be the hardest part.

Scary Monster

Interestingly enough, I received two emails talking about opposite challenges–one has her Money Honey, the other doesn’t–and I have the same answer for both:

A New Kind of Collection Letter

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010
It's a small world.

You wanna repel wealth? Let people owe you Money. You aren’t respecting them; you aren’t respecting yourself; and you’re sure not respecting Money! You can either be a caring and appreciative relationship partner to your wealth, or you can let other people disrespect your Money Honey.

YOUR PROSPERITY SERVES THE WORLD.

My friend Gene LaNier shared a collection letter he wrote that’s been working like magic. (And not just for him–I passed it on to a friend who’s seeing results, too!) You’ll just love his approach…

Dear “Tom”:

I am happy to invite you to take part in an international drive to stamp out poverty, get rid of lingering debt and help put an end to the recession.

By sending me the payment of our invoice in the amount of $844.79 you will become a partner in this international endeavor.

Considering that a dollar turns over approximately six times, your payment will be immediately dispersed all over the country by our company. By the time each dollar has completed the turning over process, you will have helped someone pay his mortgage payment, car payment, credit card payment. You will have helped send a kid to college who will become a productive member of society and earn millions of dollars. Your investment will provide medical care for the aged and destitute. It will fund the generation of new construction that will get our economy rolling again and end the recession.

Do you see how important paying your invoice is? Think of all the people you will be helping. You will help stamp out poverty, restore the economy and end the recession.

Hurry Tom, we need to get this rolling and we are ready to move your investment into circulation.

Most sincerely,
Gene (If you’d like to tell Gene how much you liked his letter, contact him at www.lanierinc.com.)

How do I get traffic to my website with social media?

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009
web traffic

web traffic

Want more website traffic? Baffled by Social Media?

It’s EASY. Here’s what to do:

  • Link back to your site when you post comments on well trafficked blogs, twitter, facebook.
  • Put your website on your YouTube videos. (Facebook and YouTube are MUSTS for web traffic.
  • Include your “gravitar” (got to http://en.gravatar.com/) with your posts. (Your photo posts automatically when you enter your email address.)
  • “Anchor” your keywords everywhere: that means hyperlink your most important keywords back to your site when you post around the web.
  • Circulate articles. Create your own blog. Create a group page and a fan page on Facebook. (I’ve gotten so much business and international exposure from being on Facebook that it blows my mind.)
  • Be a friend, not a salesperson, when you connect with people on social networking sites. Post amusing tweets. Don’t spam your friends. Don’t be pushy or icky.
  • Ping your tweets: they’ll show up on LinkedIn and other places Twitter doesn’t go… yet.
  • Get a wordpress blog, hook it up to social media, and add new content all the time.
  • Have social networking and “forward to a friend” links on your newsletters.

And that’s how I get traffic. That, and getting a lot of radio and press.

Once you get traffic to your site, bribe your visitors to take action (sign up for something) with a gift. Website visits that lead to no action are a waste of bandwidth.

Be Like Water

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

There is a theme that runs throughout the Tao Te
Ching and it is to Be Like Water. This is a potent
metaphor that I have been reflecting on recently.

There are many incredible attributes of water, but
there are two in particular that I want to highlight
for helping you live a peaceful and joyous life.

1.) Water can never be hurt, damaged, or destroyed.

That’s right – you can freeze it, boil it, or vaporize
it, and it still perfectly fine.

It’s still water.

It really doesn’t matter what happens to it. Water
cannot be grasped, it cannot be held. It cannot be
hurt by the environment because it simply shapes
itself accordingly and continues on its wondrous
journey.

Which leads me to my next point:

2.) Water shapes itself to its environment, but
it always gets to where it is going.

Water always gets to where it is going. You are
probably familiar with the water cycle from
Geology 101. Water is present in the ocean. It
then gets absorbed into the clouds as moisture.

The clouds then move over the land and it rains or
snows. The water then eventually makes its way
back to the ocean.

Sounds simple, right?

Well, as you know, water can take an infinite
number of detours as it makes its way back to
the ocean. It can remain frozen in a glacier for
eons. It can end up in a dam.

It can flow its way through endless streams and
tributaries. It can end up buried in the ground.
But eventually it always makes its way back to
the ocean. And then it always makes its way back
to the clouds and falls down as rain.

Can you let yourself be like water?

Instead of holding yourself in opposition to the
world, your life, and what is happening, can you
think of this metaphor of water? Can you let yourself
flow with what is, knowing that you will always
end up where you want to go?

If you are experiencing turbulent times, trust that
the greater part of you has the power to heal, to
nourish, and to sustain you. And trust that this
same part of you will keep you on track, no matter
how many detours you seem to be taking.

The spiritual part of ourselves is always on
purpose, gently helping you become the greatness
that you are.

Be like water and become attuned to the endless
flow of wisdom and insight within yourself.

When you do, all of life will take on a whole
new meaning.
